How we feed the people in our city, both sustainably and ethically, is the subject of September’s Green Drinks. While we may take the availability of our food for granted, it has serious environmental and social implications.

Fresh from the joint launch of these two, complementary social platforms to facilitate food growing in Leeds, we will be hearing from Tom Bliss of Feed Leeds, which is a network of individuals and organisations working in partnership to promote and support food growing in Leeds for its social, environmental and health benefits. We will also welcome back Dr Chiara Tornaghi from Urban Food Justice, a new social platform to connect Urban Agriculture of all kinds to build capacity in food growing, and connect food growing activities to policymakers.

Both projects are seeking participants to build their information bases and connect people in local communities, food growers and people with funding and policy influence, and if you’ve not been able to make the formal project launches on 20 September, then this is your chance to find out what they’re doing and get involved yourself!

As usual, we open from 6pm for open networking, followed by the main event at around 7.15, and more targeted networking afterwards. Feel free to drop in for a bit after work, or stay all evening.
